For each country the checker shows: the highest network technology available (5G, 4G LTE, or 3G), a list of providers with coverage and speed ratings, the best location to buy a local SIM card, and the country's coverage SIM Score dimension out of 10.
No. A 5G listing means at least one major provider offers 5G in that country, typically in cities. Rural areas and smaller towns often have 4G or 3G only. Travelers staying in capital cities or major urban areas are most likely to access 5G.
Ratings are on a 1–10 scale based on publicly reported network quality data and traveler feedback. Coverage rating measures the geographic extent of the network. Speed rating reflects average download speeds on that provider's network. Higher is better.
The checker shows the recommended purchase location for each country. Airport kiosks offer the fastest setup but often charge a premium. Telecom operator shops in the city usually offer better plans. Convenience stores are cheapest but may require local knowledge to activate.
